Pirjo i Sverige (S) – Kino Helios

When Pirjo Heikkilä makes a fool of herself at a public charity event, she begins to believe that she needs a change of scenery in her life.
Pirjo learns a baffling secret about her family, which leads her to Sweden. Pirjo sets off on her journey convinced that her true life awaits her in Stockholm – among royalty, new friends and greater human dignity. But the journey turns out to be anything but dignified. One awkward situation leads to another, along with an endless need to come across as more Swedish than one actually is. Pirjo i Sverige is a heart-warming comedy about Finnish shame, the need for acceptance, and whether a person can truly escape from themself – even to Sweden.
