These terms of use define how Finland Map (the "service") may be used. Using the service means that the user accepts these terms in full. If you do not accept the terms, please do not use the service.

1. Service description

Finland Map is a free open map service that displays information about travel destinations in Finland. The service is provided to users as-is and its use is at the user\'s own risk. The service is designed for adults and for minors with guardian guidance.

2. Permitted use

Users may use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes such as planning trips and excursions. The content may be browsed, printed for personal use and shared via social media links.

The user agrees not to use the service in a way that:

violates Finnish or other laws,
unusually loads the server (e.g. automated mass retrieval or copying of destinations without separate permission),
attempts to break into the service or its backend systems,
causes service malfunctions,
or infringes the rights of other users or third parties.

3. Intellectual property

The service\'s user interface, design, code, category structures, illustrations and other original creations are the property of the service provider and protected by copyright law.

Destination information shown in the service has been gathered from various open sources, and copyrights belong to the original authors. The user agrees to respect the copyrights of the original sources. The service does not grant users the right to commercial use of such information without separate permission from the source owner.

Photos shown in destinations may originate from public sources, destination owners or partners. Photo copyrights belong to their original authors.

4. Accuracy of information and liability disclaimer

The service strives to provide up-to-date and accurate information, but the accuracy, timeliness or completeness of information cannot be guaranteed. The service maintainer has no obligation to continuously update all information.

Users should always verify essential information such as opening hours, prices and service availability directly from the destination\'s own website or by phone before visiting. The service provider is not liable for damages, costs or disappointments caused by incorrect, outdated or missing information.

The service is also not liable for the accessibility, safety or suitability of destinations for individual user needs. In particular at nature sites and wilderness routes, each visitor is responsible for preparing for weather conditions, choosing a suitable route and following the given instructions.

5. Advertising and partner links

The service displays advertising as well as affiliate links from travel partners. This enables the service to be kept free for users.

Ads are displayed through automated ad systems and affiliate links from travel partners. Ad content is selected partly based on user interests (when the user has given consent) or based on page content.

For bookings made through partner links, the service may receive a commission. This does not affect the price paid by the user, and the service does not favour any particular partner based on commission alone.

Users understand that offers, prices and contract terms presented in ads and partner links are always the responsibility of the partner whose site the link leads to. The service provider is not liable for bookings made on partner sites, their fulfilment or any disputes.

6. Advertising sales for businesses

The service sells advertising space to businesses in three packages (Sponsor visibility 199 €, Category visibility 399 €, Super visibility 699 €). Prices exclude VAT. More information: /mainosmyynti.html.

An ad is displayed for 30 days from the confirmed start date. The buyer of the ad space is responsible for ensuring that the supplied advertising material is lawful, does not violate third-party rights and that the buyer has the right to use it in advertising.

The service provider reserves the right to refuse to publish an ad that is unlawful, misleading, contrary to good practice or does not fit the look and feel of the service. Any complaints about the ad's visibility must be made within 14 days of the ad's publication.

Billing is handled through the Kevesti.fi billing service. Payment terms are 14 days. The ad is published only after the invoice has been paid.

7. Third-party links and content

The service contains links to third-party websites and services. These links are provided for user convenience. The service provider is not liable for the content, security, privacy or availability of these external services.

8. Service availability

The service is intended to be available 24/7, but short maintenance breaks, update breaks or technical disruptions may occur without separate notice. The service provider is not liable for damages caused by service availability interruptions.

9. Changes to the service and terms

The service provider has the right to change the content, functionality and appearance of the service without separate notice. This also applies to category structures, destination information and advertising partners.

These terms may be updated as legislation, service development or practices change. Updated terms take effect when published on this page. By continuing to use the service after an update, the user accepts the new terms.

10. Restriction of service use

The service provider reserves the right to prevent or restrict use of the service by users who violate these terms, Finnish law or otherwise harm the service or other users. Blocking may be implemented based on IP address or other technical identifier.

11. Applicable law and disputes

These terms and the use of the service are governed by Finnish law, excluding its conflict of law rules. Any disputes regarding the service shall primarily be resolved through negotiation. If no settlement is reached, the matter may be submitted to the general courts of Finland.

Consumer customers may also submit a dispute regarding the service to the Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi) or via the EU online dispute resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/odr).
