FRSO & Dima Slobodeniouk & Helena Juntunen

“Let’s celebrate these beautiful days, all these beautiful years…”
As two remarkable composers turn 100, conductor Dima Slobodeniuk and the FRSO look back at a century of creativity.
1926 was the year when Sibelius’s Tapiola gazed into the endless forests, while Varèse’s Ameriques illuminated the skyline of a new world in sonic neon. Kurtág’s colossal Stele mourns a dark century, but Betsy Jolas’s ravishing final masterpiece is a song of gladness and hope.
