Description
Voimaeläin is an interactive dance theatre performance that invites the children to participate. The audience gets to take part in a quest to find power animals from amongst the animals of the North.
The characters in the show – Kaisla, Kiira and Tuisku – read fables to each other. A fable is a very old form of storytelling, usually a moral tale that often features animal characters. Inspired by these fables, Kaisla, Kiira and Tuisku start to look for their own power animals.
The friends immerse themselves in the world of fables until Kiira shows her friends some exciting cards. A search for power animals begins! They are sought from amongst the animals of the Nordic region, and the audience can take part in the search in the form of a guessing game. At the same time, we get to know our own northern animals, learn about them and hear about the beliefs associated with them.
The show brings up thoughts about the value of animals and people. What should animals receive from people? What can people receive from animals? A power animal strengthens a child’s confidence and agency as a person. They can reflect on their own abilities and strengths through the animal’s characteristics.
