Description
Come and discover the musicians’ favorite works! Featuring a diverse selection of pieces chosen by the members of Ensemble Nylandia, this program offers a vibrant collection of Baroque music—ranging from beloved hits to rare gems—all performed on period instruments.
The three autumn concerts trace a journey from the "Bach universe" to the musicians’ personal favorites, culminating in a celebration of the *Christmas Oratorio*.
*The Bach Universe* (Oct 20) explores the enduring influence of J.S. Bach’s music across eras through both historical and contemporary arrangements. *Musicians’ Favorites* (Nov 17) gives a voice to the members of Ensemble Nylandia, showcasing the works they hold most dear.
The season concludes with J.S. Bach’s *Christmas Oratorio* (Dec 5), featuring cantatas I–III performed by a large choir, an orchestra, and a stellar lineup of soloists: Johanna Isokoski, Hanna-Kaisa Nyrönen, Jussi Salonen, and Veikko Vallinoja.
The exceptionally beautiful acoustics of St. Paul’s Church provide a unique sonic setting for each concert. Come experience a single concert, or follow a musical journey spanning the entire season with Ensemble Nylandia!
