Description
This autumn’s Music Talsinki brings two exciting names from Estonia’s new generation of musicians to the G Livelab stage: soul-funk artist RETI and contemporary jazz trio Flow Rea.
RETI, led by singer-songwriter Reti Niimann, blends soul and funk with catchy melodies and a strong groove. Inspired by artists such as Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones, RETI has performed at Tallinn Music Week and Jazzkaar, as well as at the legendary Jazz Cafe in London, opening for disco icon Evelyn “Champagne” King. RETI’s debut album Blue Hour was released in autumn 2026.
Opening the evening is Flow Rea, a new-generation Estonian jazz trio whose music brings together jazz, soul and hip-hop. Their sound is defined by strong interplay, improvisation and a contemporary approach, with influences from the vibrant British jazz scene.
The trio consists of pianist Mathei Florea, guitarist and bassist Joosep Talumaa, and drummer Dmitri Nikolajevski. Florea, who studied at the Jazz Institute Berlin, is one of the rising names on the Estonian jazz scene. His ensemble Mathei Florea New Grounds was named Jazz Ensemble of the Year in Estonia in 2025.
Music Talsinki is organised in cooperation with Jazz Estonia and the Embassy of Estonia in Finland, with support from the Estonian Ministry of Culture and the Cultural Endowment of Estonia.
