Description
Paul Elias’s Christmas concert, which has become a tradition, takes place this year with an even larger line-up at Malmitalo in Helsinki on Friday 18 December.
Maija Pokela, the kantele artist featured in the concert in previous years, is now joined by two other leading Finnish folk musicians: guitarist Mikko Malmivaara and violinist Aino Kinnunen. During the concert, we get to hear atmospheric arrangements of Christmas carols, drawing inspiration from folk music, as well as Paul’s own winter-themed songs. Vi hör också julsånger på svenska!
A veritable array of instruments can be seen on stage as the musicians switch instruments on the fly. The instruments featured include kanteles, various guitars, string instruments, a pump organ, a mandolin and flutes. Paul Elias has already released two albums that have been very successful on streaming services, and he is currently working on his third album to be released in spring 2027.
A versatile singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Paul Elias has been involved in a wide range of projects during his 15-year career. In addition to his solo career, he has played in the popular band Satin Circus, among others, and he has written songs for a number of Finnish artists. In addition to his music career, Paul has appeared on a number of different television programmes, attracting a great deal of media attention thanks to his personality and exceptional charisma.
Duration: 2 h, incl. 30 min intermission
