On the first Monday of the month, we dance at Malmitalo!
These free community dance sessions, which are open to everyone, begin with a dance lesson, after which participants can practise what they have learnt to the accompaniment of a live band. The dance style changes every month. Come dance with us!

19.00–20.00 Samba Online
During the class by Império do Papagaio, you get to experience Brazilian carnival samba.
Samba Online is a Brazilian band that brings traditional and energetic Brazilian rhythms, such as samba and pagode, to the stage. Having lived in Finland for several years, this group of Brazilian musicians came up with the idea of promoting samba culture in Finland and throughout the Nordic region.
The band has shared the stage with well-known samba artists such as Arlindinho Cruz, the son of Arlindo Cruz – one of the most significant figures in the history of samba – and Juninho Thybau, a relative of Zeca Pagodinho.
Samba Online has performed on major stages, such as the Apollo Live Club, Biblioteket Live, Brazilian Day in Stockholm and the Helsinki Samba Carnaval at Senate Square, as well as on Viking Line ships. The band has performed internationally in countries including Finland, Sweden, Norway and Estonia.
The songs Passada de Jogador and Pause e Play are available on all digital platforms, and more releases are coming soon. Samba Online’s greatest strength is its cheerful and infectious energy, as well as its danceable rhythm that gets the audience moving and enjoying the music from start to finish.
